I have Generac's 17KW unit. Prospective buyers should be warned about:
- quality. My unit was delivered with an internal gas leak. Three weeks after installation the LED readout failed, making it impossible to change the unit's settings.
- warranty service. Due to the described quality problems I have had to endure Generac's miserable warranty service. They perform this service through local dealers. The dealers I've worked with have been unresponsive and unreliable. Partly because if you don't buy your unit from them, they are disinclined to service you. Service takes weeks with multiple appointments not kept.

I would never buy a Generac unit again.
